EVERYTHING’S POSSIBLE! We held a Video and Music workshop recently for the brilliant Exchanging Dreams, a European exchange programme held by Everything is Possible. Here’s a great ad-lib audio clip made by the group. Click here for pics and videos of the guys in our studios.

Lankelly Chase Foundation - who helped us provide music workshops to disadvantaged young people in Leeds for 18 months. Over 80 young people benefitted from the project!

Lloyds TSB Foundation - who provided a major contribution to the overheads of Lifeforce over 3 years which meant we could open our doors to new projects and build on our schools-work.

The Leedz Streetz Project has finished for the time being but we’ll be starting up soon in an area near you.

I didn’t like one of the pieces of one of the Getaway Girls because it didn’t show any information of who the woman in the picture was. There was only a picture of a Canadian flag so we guess she is from Canada that is the only information. She didn’t write her name so people can’t research her because they don’t know who she is.

Overall, I thought the exhibition was perfect because it was fun to go there and look around and it was quite educational. Personally I learned that lots of the women around the world have made it a better place for everyone.

I would recommend it to others because it may help change people’s views and understanding, and how important it is to show respect towards women.   Sufy

In October went to see Damien Hirst’s art works at the Leeds City Art Gallery.  We had a look at his dead sheep in a glass container which I think is about life and death.  There was a room set up that looked like a restaurant that he used to own in London called the Pharmacy and it was full of his artwork. His artworks are different from other art I’ve seen and I think I’d like to get more information about him to understand it a bit more.  My favourite piece was the butterfly pattern because it was shiny, gold and colourful.  It’s called Mantra and it’s made out of real butterfly wings.  People might feel upset and shocked when they see his art.  I felt shocked when I saw the dead sheep, but overall I liked the exhibition by Damien Hirst because it was so creative and different to other artwork I have seen before.  Jed

I think it just shows we all die and we should make the most of our life.  My favourite piece was the butterfly one called Mantra because it was colourful and brings you to it.  His work makes me feel alive because it’s so colourful. It’s showing what people can do with their life, like the butterflies, especially because their lives are so short.  Overall I liked it all because it made you think about why he makes artwork like that.  Nick

I found it interesting and going to the exhibition made me want to look at other artwork by him. Compared with the artwork in the rest of the gallery, his work is made with different materials you would not see normally in a gallery for example, sheep, tablets, butterflies, oxygen breathing apparatus.  My favourite piece was the pictures of human skulls made with UV ink and charcoal on canvas because even though both skulls look the same they are different.  I think this is showing we are all different as humans.  His work made me look at art from a different angle.  It made me think about life and death.  Raj

Damien Hirst’s artwork mostly revolves around death and he has a lot of skulls in his artwork.  We looked at a sculpture of an angel, half human and the other side of the angel was bones. We asked each other questions and answered them pretending to be Damien Hirst.  I think what he’s trying to tell us what we are going to look like when we die on the inside – just bones.  Damien’s slogan is “Life is short, don’t waste it”.  What he is trying to tell us is make something of your life, achieve things and have fun.  Make the best of life because it’s short. To be honest I found the trip a bit boring, but the best thing about it I enjoyed was the photograph – With Dead Head. It’s different to other artwork.  It was an actual head and it’s art.  It made me feel a bit disturbed because you could see the inside of the neck part and it was discoloured.  Keisha
